Acer has announced plans to launch the TravelMate X349 Windows 10 notebook. The first of the company’s new TravelMate X3 series will be a 3.3-pound laptop that will be just 18 mm thick. It will launch in October in the U.S. for a starting price of $649.99.
Acer is targeting small businesses and professionals with its latest notebook. The 14-inch TravelMate X349 will have a battery life of up to 10 hours, and will have 6th generation Intel Core processors inside, along with support for up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of SDD storage. The 1920×1080 display can be adjusted so it lies flat on a surface. Acer adds:
In addition to its premium design, the TravelMate X349 was built to exceed expectations when it comes to software and security. An integrated touch fingerprint sensor supports Windows Hello for fast and secure sign-in, unlocking the device at a touch. It also ships a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip that increases platform integrity and provides hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys. The TravelMate X349 is preloaded with Acer ProShield Manager, a suite of security and management tools to safeguard sensitive data, and Acer Office Manager, allowing IT professionals to quickly deploy security policies and monitor assets from one simple-to-use interface.
The Acer TravelMate X349 will also launch in Europe in September for a starting price of €480, along with China with prices starting at ¥5,999.
